A bicyclist died Friday night after being struck in a crash involving two vehicles on FM 2100 near U.S. Highway 90, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — A bicyclist died Friday night after being struck in a crash involving two vehicles on FM 2100 near U.S. Highway 90, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
According to a KPRC report, the crash occurred around 9:40 p.m. when a southbound Hyundai SUV attempted a turn at the intersection and collided with a northbound Ford pickup truck that was proceeding straight through. The impact caused the truck to veer off the roadway and hit a bicyclist who was riding on the shoulder.
The bicyclist was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries. His identity has not yet been released.
The SUV’s driver was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive. Emergency crews evaluated the driver of the truck at the scene.
Authorities said no charges have been filed at this time. The investigation remains open and is being handled by the Vehicular Crimes Division of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
